Ethiopia's first wind-powered mini-grid for rural electrification

ERG is a winner of the Powering Africa Off-Grid Challenge 2014 from the USADF/USAID. ERG designed and installed six micro wind turbines in six villages in the Amhara Regional State to supply power to 300 households, 4 enterprises and a primary school. This project is the first of its kind in Ethiopia where wind powered mini-grid is used to provide power to rural consumers.
